I just got off the phone with a dear friend of mine. You can almost imagine what happened...no, I didn't put my foot in my mouth. I put my fingers in my mouth! Does that make sense? Well, it should. I've been adept over the last months at emailing and writing. It seems like the only time I have to myself to think through and process thoughts and feelings about life in general comes when I am on the keyboard of my Mac. First of all, I am not the type of person who believes in email "missles". You know what I'm talking about...those "out of the blue" comments and emails from people who shoot away at your heart and spirit via a computer because they don't have the guts to talk to you eye to eye and heart to heart. Listen friend, email does NOT take the place of a living, breathing relationship. Just like watching the "Hour of Power" on TV is not the same as being part of a live worship community. If technology would suffice for relationships, we would all be experts. No, it takes courage and love to face a person and pour out your heart. Now, back to the original intent of this blog...I wrote an email to a dear brother...I didn't intend for it to be a missle yet he interpreted it as such. So, I'm making a promise to the Lord and to you now...no missles without first talking to the person. If I need some time to process...or if I need the permission to write down some thoughts prior to a conversation, then I will talk to the person about that first. Let's join humanity...let's not use technology to hide out or hide from anybody...especially ourselves. Although I do admit, I'd love to get an email or two straight from the Lord. Yeah, call me crazy...but that would be cool!
